Practical Fire Marshal Training
If you are an employer, business owner or are in control of premises The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 that came into force on the 1st October 2006 states that you ‘must ensure that your employees are provided with adequate safety training’.
This course is designed for people carrying out the role of fire marshals and individuals who are responsible for overseeing fire safety. This course would also benefit anyone who needs to know about fire safety. Our instructors are ex employees of local authority fire brigades and have vast experience and knowledge in fire training.
Course Content
- The triangle of combustion and how removal of one side extinguishes fire
- Fire Doors – how they will save your life and testing a door before opening
- How to move in smoke
- Know where your fire exits are in the workplace and keeping fire exits clear
- Housekeeping – why you should remove rubbish now
- Walk around the workplace getting delegates to comment on possible sources of fire
- Regular checks as you walk around the workplace, what to check and why
- Who to report findings to and where to record them, including the fire log book
- Electrical safety – switch off – don’t overload
- When to operate the fire alarm and how
- Practical use of extinguishers – type and how to operate safely
- How to check equipment correctly – weekly/monthly
- DVD conformation
Course Duration
This course is delivered over half a day at our training facility in Lincoln, at your organisations premises or at a convenient location for you.
Assessment and Certification
Candidates are continuously assessed by the tutor throughout the course and awarded with a certificate of attendance which is valid for 3 years.
